Merry Christmas

We just completed our Christmas sing along at church.  It was a good evening of fellowship.  I was blessed to sing 'O Holy Night' with my daughter.
It was a true blessing.  I hope only the best of the season to any who read this.  Remember the good tidings that the angels brought was the fact that the Lord sent us a saviour, who paid the bill for our sin.  The Good News, the Gospel.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.

Update

This year Pastor has asked me to conduct the Bible Study portion of the Wednesday evening service.  This is an oppurtunity that after prayer I could not pass up.  I am also praying that the Lord provides work that keeps me local so I can concentrate on this.
I merely 'carried on' from where Pastor left off in 1st Samuel, chronicalling the events during the kingship of Saul.
Praise the Lord.  js

Whats it all about?

Matthew 7:13 & 14  "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

It is all about where you will spend eternity.  Put your faith in Christ today.  js

Best of the New Year to you all....

1st Peter 3:10 & 11 "For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:  Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it."

We live in a time of plenty here in the United States and Canada, our poor are wealthy by the standards of the world as a whole, and yet we are in a state of panic because our politicians (though our guidance) have lost the way and we seem set to lose our prominence on the world stage.  Many of us want to lose that, out of some misguided spite directed towards the inhabitants (or maybe just their parents and ancestors) of our society.
The cure to our woe is of course a return to the ways of God.  Not false charity, stealing from one to give (so it can be wasted) to another, but true love, the love of Christ.
The two verses just prior to this talk or our love as it should be demonstrated to our fellow man:

"Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:  Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing." (1st Peter 3:8 & 9)

And why should we care and do this:

1st Peter 3:12 "For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil."

Best wishes for you all for this first year of this decade, the second of this first century of the new millennium, the third since our Lord went to His home above.  js
