Clear

Psalm 21:31 "The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD."

It is clear to me from God's word, that we are to live in this world. To be in the world but not of the world. We are to prepare for every happenstance that we can reasonably foresee and attempt to prevent and yet, we are to rely totally on the Lord for what He brings our way. In fact; we are to be joyful whatever state we find ourselves in, both as a witness to the world of what the Lord Jesus Christ has done in our lives and in joyful recognition that we are just passing through. That the Lord has gone forth to prepare for us a place.

This time of year many become depressed and lose their joy. The world through its TV shows and music and atmosphere brings a certain expectation to this season that is not of God and not edifying. Yes we are to be of good cheer that the Lord knew our sinful state since before the beginning of time and prepared His Son Jesus to come here and die as a perfect sacrifice on our behalf. However, we have a tendancy to lose sight of this simplicity and get caught up in the 'presents' and 'false joy'.

It is most important that you know the Lord as your personal saviour. Have you put your trust and faith in Jesus Christ and Him alone?

I am on my way home starting tonight, been away for almost a month. It will be good to be home with my family and church family to remember the birth of our Lord. If I don't post again before Christmas (as soon as I write that I usually end up posting again...) Merry Christmas to you all, may the joy of the Lord be with you during this time. js
